About WeekendPaddle

WeekendPaddle helps US weekend and seasonal paddlers choose, size, load and transport recreational kayaks and paddles. We focus on specs: maker stated capacity, total load, planning headroom, and maker paddle sizing charts. Every number on this site is an estimate or labelled example based on published specifications and the sources we cite.

How we work

Our guides and calculators use manufacturers' published specifications and public sources, which we cite on each page. Unless a page says otherwise, we have not tested the products we discuss. When we compare products, we compare published specs, not our own measurements.

We review pages periodically and correct errors when we find them. Each page shows the date it was last updated. If you spot an error, please contact us.

What we don't do

We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done. We don't accept payment for rankings or placement. We don't give safety, rescue, legal, medical or financial advice. Our content is general information. For safety, rescue or legal questions, follow the official U.S. Coast Guard and state boating agency pages and your gear maker’s instructions.
